The Annual Jingle Bell Run will be held at 2:00 pm on Christmas Eve.  The run is 5K and proceeds will be used to help with utility costs for those in need.  Entry fee is $20.00 and a T-Shirt is available for those registering by December 16th.

I grew up bringing cash or a check to church for the offering.  Problem?  Today many people don’t have checks or carry cash. What do they do?  They use a debit card.  Beginning in January SUMC will have the ability to process debit cards.  There is a place on the new offering envelope to allow us to process your card, or you may use the debit card reader in the lobby.  We hope this gives you a new opportunity

We will have worship every Sunday regardless of weather.  Use caution!!  Don’t get out if it puts you at risk!!  Weekday activities will be determined by Salem R80 cancellation policy.  If there is no school there will be no activities at church.

Inside the South Entrance hangs a big red sign that proclaims “Visitors Welcome Center.”  This is a central location to welcome visitors.  We will have someone host the center every Sunday morning assuring visitors to SUMC are provided with a gift and important information about our church.  We have new mugs filled with helpful info as a gift to our visitors.  If you see someone visiting; check to see if they have been by the Visitors Welcome Center for their gift and important information.

We have a new information center.   It is located in the alcove across from the library.  The information center is a place to find out church info and community info.  We will have a member of the church board host the information center every Sunday from 10:30 to 11:00 providing access to all the latest happenings at SUMC.  They may not have all the answers, but the promise is they will find the answers for you.  Be in the know; use the new SUMC Information Center.

We were delighted to report 100% payment of District Apportionments last month.  The push is now on to get our Conference Apportionments paid in full.  What can you do?  Pray about how God could use you.  Review your giving statement and see where you are in regard to where you thought you would be.  And…..remember, it takes us all working together, doing what we can to make this happen.
