A Morning Message March 11, 2010
Thursday, March 11th, 2010Thursday, March 11th, 2010
Good Morning! I was surprised by the morning, so beautiful. I had expected rain, but it had already passed. Johnny Howard is doing well, keep the prayers coming. Aweseom meal last night, breakfast at night is soo good! Just realized Daylights Savings Time comes this weekend. I do not like the time change, wish it would just be one way or the other. Don’t forget to set your clocks. Have a great day!
“No! but we are determined to have a king over us,.” Samuel 8:19
Samuel has reached old age. Samuel’s sons are following in his footsteps, but not his ways. They are judges, but they are not good judges, they are corrupt. Israel’s solution is to have a king. Samuel warns them this is a bad idea. Samuel prays and God tells Samuel to listen to the people and so Israel is about to get a king. Careful the things you wish for. Just a thought for today.
Yesterday’s question: The oldest town in the US with a biblical name is what? Salem No one is our winner today.

Hi, I'm Doug Walter, pastor here at Salem UMC. I started these little morning messages as a way for folks to get to know my family, including my puppy, MO. It also gives people a feel for what their pastor is up to, and to be able to see I am a real person. I wanted to give you all a little daily scripture and a thought. There's even a little Bible question for ya!
You can get these Morning Messages by checking back here or you can subscribe via RSS feed or email. Both of these subscription options are available over there on the left-hand side of the page (Look under "Keep in Touch"). Enjoy!
Yours, in Christ, Doug :)
