Yes, Christian Service IS Your Mission!
One of the key ways of growing as a Christian is being involved in missions. What’s mission work? Well, to put it simply, it’s serving! There are lots of ways to grow through service.
Whether helping rebuild overseas or in US disaster areas, building and connecting locally, or even filling needs in our congregation, service is essential to helping you grow in your Christian faith-life.
Volunteers in Mission (VIM)
Volunteers in Mission (VIM) is a ministry of the Missouri Area United Methodist Church coordinated by the Office of Creative Ministry. It seeks to make a Christian difference by sharing the love of Christ through our participation in short-term mission activities.
Our participation may be only a few block away, within Missouri, our UM jurisdiction, the nation, or even the world! One of the most powerful VIM missions is working with our sister-congregation in Dondo, Mozambique. If being a VIMer sound like something you’re called into, please prayerfully consider it!
Ask at the office (729-4551) or email: missions@salemmoumc.com.
Community Service
Salem UMC is a community. We are also part of the larger community of Salem! We want you to be involved in both!
Our community has people that need us in many ways, including our assistance and our prayers. Please keep checking here for announcements and opportunities to help your neighbors (and beyond)!
If you know of a need or would like to serve in this area, please contact the office (729-4551) or email: missions@salemmoumc.com.
