Women’s Ministries at Salem UMC
What is United Methodist Women? UMW is an organization of Christian women whose purpose is missions for women, children, and families locally, nationally, and internationally.
Our main events at this time are the Bazaar, Apple Butter Day, Spring Luncheon, and the Rummage Sale. Don’t let these scare you – no need to be crafty to be in UMW. Nor do you have to be a member of Salem UMC to be in UMW!
What exactly is a “circle“?
A circle is one of the way we group-up in UMW. Circles are small groups that usually meet once a month. Each circle has its own personality and sometimes its own mission! For example, the M&M (Martha & Mary) circle has a specific family that it gives gifts and food to during the holidays. Faith and Friendship circle makes lap-robes for nursing home residents. The entire UMW meets every other month.
