What is it?
- Safe & fun family activity. October 31st from 5:30 – 9pm. (There will be activities for the little-little ones starting at 5pm)
- Dozens of decorated cars. Your costumed little ones can safely go from car to car, collecting candy! You will be able to vote for the best decorated car!
- Costume contest. Pictures will be taken at registration. The winners will be informed and annouced in the newspaper. Yes, there will be prizes in each category!!!
- Pumpkin carving contest. Bring your pre-carved pumpkin the afternoon on the 31st between 12 and 3pm. Your fellow guests will vote on their favorites and the winners will be annouced in the newspaper. Yes, there’s prizes!!
- FREE pictures. You will be able to download your pictures from our website FREE!
- FOOD! Our fabulous culinary ministry folks will be serving up some tasty treats (YUM!)
- Helping the community. Bring a canned food item to help folks in our community this holiday season.
Why are we doing this?
In our mostly rural community, it can be difficult for parents and kids to go trick-or-treating. We wanted to provide a safe and fun community activity for our neighbors in the area. This is our 3rd year doing this and it has become a Salem area institution! Come be a part of it!
Important tips:
Because this has been so popular, safety is a big issue. We’re expecting more than 3,000 people (gasp!). To help us and your neighbors out, please…
- Try to car-pool. Not only is this more fun, it’ll help parking and crowding.
- We will be open from 5:30 to 9pm. There will be plenty of candy. There’s no rush!
- VERY IMPORTANT: Doss Road will be blocked for safety (it’s the intersection with the signal). Please enter on the North Driveway from Scenic Rivers Blvd. (Hwy 32) across from Casey’s. (here’s a map & directions)
- Be considerate of others and HAVE FUN!!!
